Dance of the Jabberwocky - Grade .5

Dance of the Jabberwocky

Inspired by a fictional character in one of the greatest of all nonsense poems by Lewis Carroll, this humorous depiction of the Jabberwocky includes trombone glissandi and a ratchet to add to the mayhem. A wonderful way to lighten your program with a work that is easy to put together and full of imagination!

Rise to Power

Your students will feel the power as they perform this exciting beginning level piece by Rob Grice. A very easy beginning band composition. Introduces students to a little independence that is presented in such a way it is very easy for young musicians to understand and easy to learn. No clarinet crosses the break and the first trumpet's highest note is A. Playable with only flutes, clarinets, alto saxes, and trumpets.

Easy Street March - Grade 1

Easy Street March

Your band will feel footloose and fancy-free when they play this cheerful little march. It uses only six notes and easy rhythms, making it a perfect selection for beginning players' very first concert.

 

Firestorm - Grade 1

Firestorm

This is an exciting hard driving composition that your students will love, and it is easy to play. The harmonies are interesting and different than many compositions, yet there are no accidentals in the entire work. Clarinets do not cross the break, and the 1st trumpet's highest note is A.

Gentle River - Grade 1

Gentle River

Gentle River is a lyrical ballad by Rob Grice that depicts the simple beauty of a river as it flows peacefully through a green valley. It offers the opportunity to teach younger musicians to play expressively while using legato and staccato articulations yet maintaining a blended and balanced ensemble sound. Hunter's Mountain

Hunter's Mountain is an aggressive beginning band composition that was written to capture the energy and imagination of young musicians. With very limited demands, this composition offers young players a chance to perform with success in their early stage of development! Only the first six notes of the B-flat concert scale are utilized.
