Myths and Legends

Extensive percussion writing highlights this exciting new work. Opening with an almost ethereal quality, the piece quickly shifts character to a 6/8 section reminiscent of medieval times. A lush and vibrant lyrical section offers an opportunity to showcase your ensemble's musicianship. A percussive interlude then builds to a dramatic conclusion. A superb opportunity to show versatility at a lower medium Grade level.

Rob Grice's Portrait of an Old Country Town is a programmatic work depicting images of an early American community. The beauty of the countryside, the work involved in taming the great outdoors, and a small town festival celebration are all pictorial elements of the piece.
